The article provides information on the general principles of modern biological education from the perspective of the system-activity approach. It gives a technological description of project and research class activity, including a description of work phases. The paper also features a pattern that can help students analyze their own project and research activities, which form the research culture of students and transform the quasi-research they conduct during biology lessons into their personal self-development. This is possible thanks to compliance with the procedures of scientifi investigation, adapted to the level of cognitive capabilities of students.
