This article substantiates the expediency of using packaging made of environmentally friendly biodegradable materials instead of traditional plastic packaging based on petroleum polymers because of analysis of the current state of packaging use in the Russian consumer market and an assessment of environmental awareness of Yekaterinburg residents regarding the production and use of biodegradable packaging.
