The domestic market of the Altai Territory is fully provided with essential food products. The state agrarian policy pursued in the region has a favorable effect on the growth of food production. One of the main instruments is state support, which consists in concessional lending. In order to contain selling prices for some categories of food products, subsidies are provided from the federal budget to reimburse producers for the costs incurred. Of the total investment in fixed capital of food production, the largest investments were made in dairy industry enterprises, which account for a quarter of the investment. At the same time, in recent decades, there has been a negative trend in the production of a number of dairy products, which is primarily due to a reduction in the production of raw materials
